Overview The Police Officer plays a crucial role in maintaining public safety and enforcing the law within the community. As a Police Officer, you will engage with the community, respond to emergencies, conduct investigations, and ensure compliance with local laws. Duties
- Patrol assigned areas to deter and detect criminal activity.
- Respond promptly to calls for service and emergencies.
- Conduct thorough investigations of incidents, including gathering evidence and interviewing witnesses.
- Prepare detailed reports documenting incidents, arrests, and other relevant information.
- Enforce traffic laws and regulations; issue citations as necessary.
- Manage conflicts effectively to de-escalate potentially volatile situations.
- Provide first aid and CPR when necessary; assist in emergency medical situations.
- Handle animals in distress or involved in incidents, ensuring their safety and welfare.
- Utilize surveillance techniques to monitor suspicious activities within the community.
- Collaborate with other law enforcement agencies as needed.
Salary and Benefits:
New officers with no experience will receive $2,500.00 bonus upon completion of field training. Officers who hold a current Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) Peace Officer Certification will receive the following after completion of field training based on years of service as a licensed peace officer: Less than 2 years: $5,000 2 years to less than 5 years: $10,000 5 years and above: $20,000

Must possess a high school diploma or G.E.D. certificate.
Must possess a valid Texas driver's license and have a good driving record.
Must not have been convicted of a felony at any time or a Class B misdemeanor or above in the last 10 years.

Must have an honorable discharge from the Armed Forces, if applicable.
Must have vision correctable to 20/20.
