Police Officer Job Type:
Full Time Fair Oaks Ranch, TX Fair Oaks Ranch Police Department Salary:
$67,000.00 per year
Position Summary:
Under general supervision of the Assigned Sergeant the Police Officer performs responsible law enforcement duties to protect life and property, enforce Federal, State, and local laws and ordinances, prevent crime, and maintain public peace within the City of Fair Oaks Ranch. Officers respond to emergencies, conduct investigations, prepare reports, and engage with the public to promote community safety and trust.
Essential Functions:
  • Patrols an assigned area, by vehicle or on foot, to prevent crimes and enforce laws and ordinances.
  • Responds to emergency calls and routine complaints and disturbances, including domestic disputes and alarms, and takes necessary action, including performing first aid.
  • Conduct preliminary and follow-up investigations of traffic accidents, property crimes, and crimes against persons; gather and preserve evidence; interview witnesses, victims, and suspects.
  • Directs traffic, escorts traffic, operates traffic radar monitoring equipment, and issues traffic citations.
  • Investigates traffic accidents and crimes against persons and property. Questions witnesses, complainants, and suspects, and takes statements and depositions.
  • Issue citations and make arrests in accordance with applicable laws and department policy.
  • Serve warrants, complete arrest reports, and prepare detailed written and electronic reports of incidents and investigations.
  • Keeps records of activities and makes reports concerning crimes, complaints, accidents, and investigations.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Valid Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Peace Officers License (TCOLE) required.
  • Ability to pass and maintain physical agility, firearms, and fitness standards as set by the department.
Valid Texas Class C Driver's License Preferred Requirements :
  • Associate degree or higher from an accredited college or university in Criminal Justice, Public Administration, or a related field.
  • CPR/First Aid Certification.
  • Specialized law enforcement certifications (e.
g., SFST, Crisis Intervention Training, Accident Investigation, Basic Instructor).
