POLICE OFFICER

The City of Kemp is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Police Officer. Applicants must be licensed by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE)

Minimum Qualifications:

Must meet all requirements for licensure as a Texas Peace Officer as established by TCOLE High school diploma or GED required Valid Texas driver's license required Must be at least 21 years of age Must be a U.S. citizen Must have no disqualifying criminal history Must be of good moral character and successfully pass a comprehensive background investigation Preference may be given to applicants with experience in community-oriented policing practices.

Duties:

A City of Kemp Police Officer performs routine and proactive law enforcement duties to enforce law and maintain public safety. Responsibilities include patrolling assigned areas, responding to calls for service, conducting traffic enforcement, investigating criminal incidents, making arrests, preparing incident reports, and testifying in court as necessary. Officers are expected to engage with the community in a professional manner, support community-oriented policing efforts, and respond effectively to emergency situations.
