Police Officer

We are seeking a Police Officer to join a municipal police department committed to community safety and public trust. We are seeking a dedicated Police Officer to patrol assigned areas, respond to emergencies, and work collaboratively with the community to maintain public safety and order. Key Responsibilities:

• Patrol designated areas on foot, bicycle, or in a vehicle to deter and detect criminal activity.
• Respond promptly to emergency and non-emergency calls for service.
• Investigate incidents, gather evidence, and interview witnesses and suspects.
• Make arrests when necessary, following proper legal procedures and use-of-force guidelines.
• Write detailed and accurate incident, arrest, and accident reports.
• Testify in court proceedings as required, presenting evidence and testimony clearly.
• Build positive relationships with community members through outreach and engagement programs.
• Provide first aid and emergency assistance at accident or crime scenes.
• Complete ongoing training in law enforcement techniques, de-escalation, and legal updates.

Requirements and Qualifications:

• High school diploma required; college coursework in criminal justice preferred.
• Completion of police academy training and relevant certifications.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Strong physical fitness and ability to pass required fitness assessments.
• Excellent judgment, integrity, and decision-making under pressure.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Work Environment:

You will work varying shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays, often responding to unpredictable and high-pressure situations. The role requires close coordination with fellow officers, dispatchers, and community organizations, along with a steady commitment to upholding the law fairly and respectfully. Successful candidates will be comfortable adapting to a dynamic day-to-day routine, working both independently and as part of a coordinated team, and maintaining a professional, solutions-oriented attitude even when circumstances change unexpectedly.
