Full Time Haymarket, VA Haymarket Police Department Salary:
$73,500 - $84,000Essential Functions:
- Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls for service.
- Conduct criminal and traffic investigations.
- Interview victims, witnesses, and suspects.
- Collect, process, and preserve evidence.
- Prepare detailed reports and maintain accurate records.
- Make lawful arrests and testify in court proceedings.
- Investigate suspicious persons, vehicles, and activities.
- Respond to disturbances, traffic crashes, and public safety incidents.
- Assist with criminal investigations and present evidence during judicial proceedings.
- Maintain a visible presence at community events to deter criminal activity.
- Build positive relationships with residents, businesses, and visitors through community-oriented policing.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Chief of Police.
Requirements:
- Possess a High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED).
- Hold a current Virginia Law Enforcement Certification.
- Possess a valid driver's license.
- Reside, or be willing to relocate, within a 60-mile radius of Haymarket.
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts (6:00 pm-6:00 am).
- Demonstrate the ability to read, understand, and apply the Code of Virginia and departmental policies.
