Job Description

The Town of Manchester, VT (population 4,300; 42.67 square miles) is accepting applications for two (2) Police Officer positions, one (1) Full and one (1) Part-Time. The Town of Manchester is seeking energetic, positive-thinking, service-oriented individuals with a strong desire to provide quality police services and who want a rewarding career that combines an excellent work environment with a community rich in family-oriented activities. Manchester is a picturesque town in the Battenkill River Valley between Bennington and Rutland in the heart of the Green Mountain National Forest and near three ski resorts. The Town is home of a strong economy and civic culture, local and national retail stores, countless restaurants, cultural and recreational attractions, and the famed Equinox Hotel and the historic home of Robert Todd Lincoln. The Town is a terrific place to live and raise a family; its education system is consistently ranked one of the best in the State.
Full-Time Police Officer :
Candidates with full-time officer certification preferred. Work schedule is four days on, four days off. Benefit eligible. The Town offers an extensive benefits package for full-time officers including medical insurance, dental insurance, life insurance, short-term disability, paid vacation days, participation in the Vermont Municipal Employees Retirement System (Group D), paid sick days, and bonus opportunities.
Part-Time Police Officer :
Flexible work schedule is less than 30 hours per week.
Pay:
$27.89 - $46.74 per hour
