About the Role We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Corporate Legal Associate to join our legal team. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to gain comprehensive legal experience working closely with experienced in-house counsel in on a broad range of corporate legal matters, gaining hands-on exposure to commercial transactions, corporate governance, and financing work in a fast-paced in-house environment by drafting contracts, conducting legal research, and managing transaction due diligence. Responsibilities Assist in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of legal documents including contracts, agreements, and policies related to corporate operations and environmental compliance. Conduct thorough legal research to support regulatory compliance efforts. Support the preparation and maintenance of corporate governance documents Help prepare board and shareholder materials, including resolutions, consents, and meeting minutes Assist with drafting and reviewing financing documents Help maintain corporate governance records and ensure company policies align with current laws. Support entity maintenance and compliance across corporate structures Conduct legal research on a variety of corporate and commercial law topics Provide general legal support to in-house counsel as needed Qualifications A Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school. Active bar admission to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction (California Bar preferred, but not required) 1-3 years of experience handling corporate law matters, ideally in a start-up technology company. Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills Ability to work independently while operating under the supervision of California-licensed in-house counsel Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Excellent written skills with ability to draft clear legal documents and verbal communication skills Proficiency in standard office applications like Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and legal research platforms. Excellent organizational skills for managing multiple deadlines efficiently are crucial. Bilingual proficiency is a plus, but not required Additional Details This position will be based in our San Francisco office initially, with an expected relocation to our Berkeley office beginning January 2027. Candidates should be prepared to accommodate this transition. The associate will work under the direct supervision of COO, California-licensed in-house counsel. $100,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
