Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Attorney to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of various areas of law, including but not limited to estate planning, environmental law, civil litigation and workers' compensation law. This role requires exceptional legal drafting skills, the ability to conduct thorough legal research, and familiarity with tribal law regulations. The Attorney will be responsible for providing sound legal advice, representing clients in legal matters, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Responsibilities Provide legal counsel and representation to clients in various areas of law, including estate planning, environmental law, , and workers' compensation law. Conduct comprehensive legal research using tools such as Lexis-Nexis to support case preparation and strategy. Draft legal documents including contracts, wills and trusts, and pleadings with precision and clarity. Advise clients on their rights and obligations under tribal law regulations and other relevant legal frameworks. Collaborate with other attorneys and staff within the law office to develop effective case strategies. Maintain accurate records of client interactions and case progress in compliance with ethical standards. Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations that may impact clients or the firm. Experience Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school. Admission to the bar in the relevant jurisdiction. Proven experience in legal drafting and conducting legal research. Familiarity with civil procedure for trial is preferred but not mandatory. Experience in estate planning, environmental law, patent law, or workers' compensation law is highly desirable. Strong written communication skills with an emphasis on clarity and attention to detail. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.
