We're looking for an experienced Workers' Compensation Hearing Representative who understands California workers' compensation law and procedure, is comfortable handling hearings and conferences, and can effectively advocate for clients throughout their cases. About the Role As a Workers' Compensation Hearing Representative, you'll work closely with our workers' compensation attorneys and case management team to represent applicants in matters before the Workers' Compensation Appeals Board (WCAB). You'll prepare for and attend hearings, conferences, and other proceedings while helping move cases toward resolution. This role is a good fit for someone with hands-on workers' compensation hearing experience who understands WCAB procedures, communicates confidently with clients and opposing parties, and is comfortable managing multiple matters in a fast-paced legal environment. Key Responsibilities Represent applicants at hearings, conferences, and other proceedings as permitted Prepare for Mandatory Settlement Conferences, Status Conferences, Priority Conferences, and other appearances Review case files, medical reports, pleadings, and supporting documentation before hearings Communicate with clients regarding upcoming hearings, case developments, and next steps Negotiate with defense counsel and insurance carriers regarding case issues and potential resolutions Assist with settlement discussions and case resolution Identify outstanding issues and determine what is needed to move cases forward Review notices, orders, filings, and case statuses Prepare and organize documents and supporting materials for hearings Coordinate with attorneys, case managers, medical providers, insurance carriers, defense counsel, and other parties as needed Maintain accurate and detailed case notes within the firm's case management system Keep attorneys informed of significant case developments and matters requiring attorney involvement Ensure deadlines, hearing dates, and other important case requirements are properly tracked Assist attorneys and the workers' compensation team with additional case-related responsibilities as needed What We're Looking For Minimum 1 year of experience as a Workers' Compensation Hearing Representative or in a substantially similar role Applicant-side workers' compensation experience strongly preferred Experience appearing before the California Workers' Compensation Appeals Board Familiarity with California workers' compensation law, procedures, and the overall case lifecycle Experience preparing for and handling workers' compensation hearings and conferences Understanding of WCAB filings, deadlines, pleadings, medical reports, and case documentation Strong negotiation and communication skills Ability to review a case file and identify the key issues that need to be addressed Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to manage multiple hearings, deadlines, and competing priorities Professional and confident communication with clients, defense counsel, insurance carriers, and other parties Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, Google Workspace, and legal case management software Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with attorneys and the workers' compensation team Strong follow-through and ability to proactively move matters toward resolution What We Offer Competitive salary: $70,000-$90,000 per year Hands-on experience representing applicants in workers' compensation matters Direct collaboration with experienced workers' compensation attorneys Opportunity to take ownership of hearings and case-related responsibilities Opportunities for professional growth and advancement Supportive, collaborative, and fast-growing work environment Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance Vision insurance 401(k) Paid time off If you have workers' compensation hearing experience and enjoy advocating for injured workers, handling WCAB appearances, and helping cases move toward resolution, we encourage you to apply.
