Role:
Associate Attorney (Insurance Defense Litigation)
Location:
Huntington Beach, CA Job Type:
Fulltime - Onsite (Hybrid after 3 months) An established and growing litigation firm is seeking experienced Insurance Defense Attorneys who are looking to advance their careers toward leadership and partnership. This opportunity offers substantial courtroom experience, mentorship from seasoned litigators, and a clear path for professional growth. The practice represents institutional clients in complex civil litigation matters, including healthcare organizations, public entities, commercial businesses, and other large organizations.
Responsibilities:
Manage a litigation caseload from inception through resolution. Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, briefs, and other legal documents. Conduct legal research and prepare persuasive written advocacy. Take and defend depositions. Attend court hearings, mediations, arbitrations, settlement conferences, and trials. Develop litigation strategy in collaboration with senior attorneys. Communicate effectively with clients, insurance carriers, expert witnesses, and opposing counsel. Maintain accurate billing records and meet annual billable hour expectations. Mentor junior attorneys and legal support staff as appropriate.
Qualifications:
Active California Bar license in good standing. 3 to 10+ years of civil litigation experience. Experience in one or more of the following areas is highly preferred: Insurance Defense General Liability Medical Malpractice Dental Malpractice Public Entity Defense Professional Liability Strong legal writing, research, and oral advocacy skills. Excellent organizational and case management abilities. Ability to independently manage files while collaborating within a team environment.

Pay:
$130,000.00 - $200,000.00 per year
