Manage a diverse caseload of pre-litigation personal injury cases from intake through settlement, including auto accidents, premises liability, dog bites, wrongful death, and catastrophic injury claims. Develop and execute comprehensive case strategies based on medical records, legal analysis, and client goals. Experience with health care law and subrogation rights. Negotiate settlements with insurance adjusters, defense attorneys, and mediators to maximize client recovery. Draft legal documents including demand letters, settlement packages, complaints, and petitions for minor's compromise. Conduct thorough legal research using tools like Westlaw and LexisNexis and stay up to date on evolving California personal injury law. Maintain regular communication with clients to ensure transparency and trust throughout the process. Collaborate with experts such as medical professionals and accident reconstructionist to strengthen claims. Supervise and mentor support staff, including law clerks and paralegals. Assist senior attorneys with litigation strategy when cases escalate.
Job Requirements:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree, Master of Laws (LL.M.) from an ABA-accredited law school, or a foreign equivalent degree in law and 2 years of relevant legal experience in the offered position or position as a practicing attorney, including at a law firm or in-house. Must possess expertise/knowledge sufficient to adequately perform the duties of the job being offered. Expertise/knowledge may be gained through employment experience or education.
Required expertise/knowledge includes:
  • Experience in Advanced negotiation and litigation settlement skills with insurers and defense attorneys.
  • Knowledge of conducting legal research using Westlaw or LexisNexis.
  • Experience with case management software such as Clio.
  • Experience reviewing and analyzing medical records, legal evidence, and accident reports.
  • Experience supervising and mentoring legal support staff.
  • Experience with health care law and subrogation rights.
  • Member of California State Bar in good standing.
