Overview We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Intake Attorney/Pre-Litigation Associate specializing in Elder Abuse to join our dynamic legal team. This vital role involves managing initial client consultations, evaluating elder abuse cases. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in elder abuse law with a passion for advocating on behalf of vulnerable elders. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact through legal advocacy and thorough case management. Duties Conduct comprehensive intake interviews with clients alleging elder abuse, ensuring all relevant information is accurately collected and documented. Evaluate case merits by reviewing medical records, legal documents, and other pertinent evidence to determine potential claims. Perform statutory and procedural legal research using tools such as LexisNexis and Westlaw to support case assessments. Draft detailed legal reports, client correspondence, and initial pleadings to facilitate case development. Coordinate with investigators, medical professionals, and social services to gather evidence and build a compelling case. Prepare cases for pre-litigation processes including settlement negotiations or filing appropriate legal actions. Maintain organized case files using legal case management systems while adhering to confidentiality protocols. Skills Strong knowledge of elder abuse law. Excellent legal research skills utilizing LexisNexis and Westlaw platforms. Proven ability in legal writing, drafting contracts, motions, pleadings, and trial preparation documents. Exceptional client communication skills with a focus on empathy and clarity when dealing with vulnerable populations. Familiarity with procedural laws and statutory legal research methods. Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail. Demonstrated experience in legal advocacy within personal injury or elder abuse contexts is highly preferred. Pay:
$100,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
