full-time A rapidly growing technology company is expanding its legal team and is looking for a Commercial & Product Counsel to take on a highly visible role supporting the company's continued growth. This is an opportunity for an attorney who enjoys working at the intersection of technology, commercial transactions, product development, privacy, and legal operations . The ideal candidate will be comfortable operating independently, partnering directly with business and product stakeholders, and turning complex legal issues into practical, actionable advice. This position is particularly well suited to someone who has previously worked as in-house counsel, sole counsel, or an early legal hire and enjoys having meaningful ownership over the legal function. What You'll Do Review, draft, and negotiate a broad range of commercial and technology agreements . Provide practical legal guidance on product, privacy, technology, and day-to-day business matters . Partner closely with product, engineering, sales, operations, and other internal stakeholders. Identify contractual obligations, potential risks, unusual provisions, and issues requiring additional attention. Develop repeatable approaches to recurring legal matters and improve the efficiency and consistency of contract review. Create and maintain legal playbooks, templates, processes, and guidance for frequently encountered issues. Help improve legal workflows through technology, automation, and AI-assisted legal tools . Work with product and technical teams to identify opportunities to improve the systems supporting legal review. Identify inefficiencies within existing processes and recommend practical solutions. Help establish consistent quality standards across commercial and product-related legal work. Manage competing priorities while maintaining strong attention to detail, responsiveness, and quality. Partner with operational teams to improve how legal support is delivered as the organization scales. What We're Looking For J.D. from an accredited law school. Active membership in good standing with the California Bar . Approximately 5-8 years of legal experience . Significant experience advising technology companies, SaaS businesses, startups, or other high-growth organizations . Meaningful experience with commercial contracts and technology transactions . Experience advising on product and privacy matters . Strong ability to independently assess legal risk and translate it into practical business recommendations. Exceptional attention to detail and strong drafting, negotiation, and communication skills. Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with evolving priorities and limited bureaucracy. Interest in AI, legal technology, automation, and technology-enabled legal workflows .
