Job Description
Roberts Family Resolution Services Weekend Supervised Visitation Specialist (Court-Ordered Parenting Time Monitor) Lone Tree, CO 80124 | $20•30/hour starting pay | Part-time, Contract About the Role Roberts Family Resolution Services is a child-focused agency providing court-ordered supervised visitation services in active family law cases. This role is about helping children feel safe, supported, and connected during some of the most difficult times in their lives. Many of the children we work with have autism, developmental disabilities, trauma histories, emotional dysregulation, and significant behavioral challenges. Cases often involve domestic violence, protection orders, sexual abuse, child abuse, addiction, mental illness, reunification, and high-conflict litigation. Successful Supervisors often become a trusted and consistent adult in a child's life while remaining neutral and professional in legally significant situations. This is not a sit-and-watch position. Supervisors actively participate in visits through play, observation, interviewing, behavior management, relationship-building, coaching, and continuous supervision. Responsibilities include ensuring compliance with court orders, addressing safety concerns, preparing court documentation, collaborating with attorneys, therapists, and other professionals, and providing testimony regarding observations. The strongest Supervisors genuinely enjoy working with children, remain physically and emotionally engaged throughout visits, and balance warmth with professionalism, objectivity, and accountability. Requirements (Must Read Before Applying)
Professional Child Experience:
At least 2 years of consecutive paid professional experience working directly with children in education, special education, nannying, behavioral health, ABA, therapeutic services, youth programs, family support services, court-involved services, child welfare, or similar roles requiring behavior management, professionalism, independent decision-making, accountability, and interaction with families.
Employment Stability:
At least one qualifying child-focused position with the same employer or family for 2 consecutive years or longer.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Education, Human Services, Criminal Justice, Child Development, Family Studies, Behavioral Sciences, or a related field.
Commitment:
This is a 2-year minimum commitment. Consistency is critical because changes in Supervisors can significantly impact children, families, and court proceedings.
Location:
Must live within 10-15 minutes of I-25. The best fit will be those living in Highlands Ranch, Greenwood Village, Lone Tree, or South Denver.
Emotional Readiness:
Able to remain effective in a high-conflict, emotionally demanding, legally significant role involving abuse, addiction, severe mental illness, reunification, safety concerns, protection orders, and ongoing litigation.
Physical Demands:
This is an active, on-your-feet role requiring walking, standing, running, playing, and supervising multiple children in parks, zoos, trampoline parks, malls, playgrounds, libraries, and homes. Visits are typically 2-4 hours each and require continuous eye and ear supervision throughout.
Driving:
Must drive yourself to 1-4 visits per shift throughout the Denver metro area using safe and dependable transportation. You do not transport families. Reality of This Role This is one of the most demanding child-focused positions in family law. Supervisors typically travel throughout the Denver metro area to 1-4 families per day and spend 2-4 hours with each family in active community and home settings. A substantial portion of this role involves driving between visits, adapting to frequent changes, maintaining ongoing communication, remaining physically active, and responding to time-sensitive situations. Visits often involve emotional dysregulation, meltdowns, refusal behaviors, safety concerns, challenging family dynamics, and ongoing conflict. Parents and their attorneys may challenge observations, dispute documentation, make allegations, question professional judgment, or attempt to undermine a Supervisor's credibility. Successful Supervisors remain neutral, professional, and emotionally regulated while working under legal scrutiny. Families rely heavily on consistency and continuity, making reliability, accountability, responsiveness, and long-term commitment essential. We are seeking professionals who exercise sound judgment, maintain strong boundaries, and perform effectively in emotionally intense and legally significant situations. Not a Fit For Applicants unable to communicate daily, respond promptly, adapt to frequent changes, and maintain ongoing communication in a time-sensitive professional environment. Individuals seeking a low-conflict, low-stress, predictable, or sedentary position Applicants uncomfortable with court involvement, legal proceedings, report writing, testimony, or maintaining neutrality under pressure Individuals who struggle with accountability, feedback, detailed procedures, or changing circumstances Applicants who become overwhelmed by behavioral crises, emotionally intense situations, or difficult family dynamics Applicants who avoid physically active environments or prolonged engagement with children Anyone unable to commit to consistent weekends and weekday evenings Individuals seeking a temporary position rather than a long-term professional commitment to children and families Key Responsibilities Ensure child safety and compliance with court orders Conduct child interviews and facilitate disclosures Provide coaching, modeling, and feedback to parents Manage behavioral, emotional, and safety concerns Prepare detailed, objective documentation for court proceedings Communicate and collaborate with attorneys, therapists and other professionals Provide testimony regarding observations Drive to and from visit locations throughout the Denver metro area Ideal Candidate Naturally connects with children and builds trust quickly Comfortable working with autism, developmental disabilities, trauma, and challenging behaviors Calm and professional during conflict, criticism, and emotionally intense situations Organized, adaptable, and detail-oriented Demonstrates reliability, professionalism, and sound judgment Committed to long-term relationships with families
