Trusts and Estates Tax Director/Partner
Shelton, Connecticut, United States Trust & Estate Tax Manager / Director We are partnering with a well-established public accounting firm seeking an experienced Trust & Estate Tax Manager or Director to lead and grow its fiduciary tax practice. This is an outstanding opportunity for a seasoned tax professional who enjoys working closely with high-net-worth individuals, families, fiduciaries, and business owners while mentoring staff and contributing to the firm's continued growth. Partnership potential is available for the right individual. Key Responsibilities Lead the preparation and review of complex fiduciary, estate, gift, and individual income tax returns.
Provide technical guidance on trust, estate, and tax planning matters.
Advise clients and internal teams on estate and trust administration, probate matters, and fiduciary accounting.
Research federal and state tax issues and develop practical solutions for clients.
Respond to IRS and state tax agency notices and assist with audits or tax examinations when necessary.
Build and maintain long-term client relationships while serving as a trusted advisor.
Supervise, coach, and develop tax professionals, ensuring quality work and timely project completion.
Identify opportunities to improve processes and enhance client service. Qualifications 8+ years of public accounting experience with a strong concentration in trust and estate taxation.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; Master's degree is a plus.
CPA designation preferred.
Strong understanding of fiduciary tax law, estate planning, and trust administration.
Experience using professional tax software and accounting systems.
Advanced Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
Excellent communication and client relationship management abilities.
Proven leadership experience with the ability to mentor and develop staff.
