Job Description

The General Counsel role provides legal advice and strategies to the executive team. This role will provide comprehensive legal support to our global sales training and business consulting brand, focusing on contract management, regulatory compliance, intellectual property protection, and litigation support. Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, the Associate General Counsel will serve as a trusted advisor to various business units, contributing to strategic initiatives and ensuring legal compliance across all operations. The ideal candidate is a strategic thought leader, anticipating opportunities as well as risks, and can make decisions and accommodate change in both an independent and collaborative manner.
Responsibilities Legal Advisory & Compliance:
Provide expert legal counsel to senior management on diverse matters, including corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and contract negotiation. Monitor and interpret federal, state, and international laws and regulations impacting the company. Develop and implement legal strategies and policies that align with Cardone Training Technologies Inc's business objectives. Ensure strict compliance with all applicable laws and regulations within the sales training and business consulting sectors.
Contract Management:
Review, analyze, and negotiate commercial and vendor contracts to ensure compliance with company policies, mitigate legal and business risks, including data privacy, indemnification, limitation of liability, and termination provisions.
Data & Privacy:
Work cross-functionally with technical and compliance teams to support legal analysis and implementation strategies concerning customer data, usage rights, and AI technologies.
IP & Brand Protection:
Work with product, marketing, compliance, and legal teams to help identify and safeguard intellectual property, supporting strategy and execution around trademarks, copyrights, and patents, including reviewing IP clauses in contracts and assisting with IP workflows.
Risk & Insurance:
Support internal risk mitigation policies and ensure the company is protected across liability, cyber, and E&O matters.
Process Optimization:
Support legal and cross-functional teams to design and refine scalable internal workflows, templates, and systems that support a growing legal function.
Litigation Support:
Manage and oversee litigation and dispute resolution processes. Resolve issues arising from existing commercial relationships and manage pre-litigation legal disputes and inquiries. Coordinate and effectively manage external legal counsel as needed. Experience in the below areas is preferred:
  • E-Commerce terms and conditions
  • TCPA
  • FTC
  • SEC / Real Estate
  • Sarbanes-Oxley
  • M&A
  • Family Office Qualifications Required to work on-site Monday through Friday (9am - 6pm) in our Aventura office.
Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree and active bar membership in Florida required; other state bar memberships are a plus Minimum 15 years of legal experience, including at least 10 years in-house at a high-growth company Proven experience in senior legal leadership roles with progressively increased responsibilities Demonstrated expertise in privacy law, commercial contracting, employment law, vendor compliance, licensing frameworks, IP, M & A and corporate governance Excellent judgment, business acumen, and strong, clear oral and written communication skills. Track record of navigating high-growth environments and building legal teams from the ground up Demonstrated expertise in contract drafting, review, and negotiation and a proven ability to manage contract lifecycle and cross-functional legal processes Deep interest in operational, corporate, regulatory, and product law—not a litigator Familiarity with highly regulated B2B/B2C industries; Prior work in B2B2C services space preferred High attention to detail, incredible follow-through, and strong process orientation Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, continuously evolving environment Team-player, collaborative, good attitude Experience working with AI- or data-powered products Ability to build collaborative relationships and influence others. A strategic thought leader with credibility to advise senior leadership.
