Collins Brown Barkett, Chartered seeks a Florida licensed Attorney with Litigation experience. The ideal candidate must be highly motivated, with excellent written, social, and verbal skills. The right candidate will be a hard-working team player responsible for all aspects of a client's case including communicating with clients and other counsel and advisers, drafting, and/or reviewing documents and pleadings.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

Review case files and calendar for the day — court appearances, deadlines, filing due dates Check emails and voicemails from clients, opposing counsel, and the court; respond to urgent items first Review and respond to correspondence from opposing counsel (settlement offers, discovery requests, meet-and-confer letters) Manage a full, active caseload — tracking each matter's status, deadlines, and next steps Prioritize tasks across multiple cases simultaneously (litigation rarely moves one case at a time) Update case management software/calendar with new deadlines, hearing dates, and statute of limitations tracking Draft and/or review pleadings: complaints, answers, motions, and responses Draft discovery requests and responses (interrogatories, requests for production, requests for admission) Prepare correspondence to clients, opposing counsel, and the court Conduct legal research on case law, statutes, and procedural rules relevant to active matters Research to support motions (e.g., motions to dismiss, summary judgment, motions in limine) Speak with clients directly — case updates, explaining strategy, managing expectations Communicate with other counsel to negotiate, schedule depositions, or discuss settlement Coordinate with experts, investigators, or other advisers as needed Attend hearings, depositions, mediations, or trial (as scheduled) Prepare for and attend case management conferences File pleadings and motions through the Florida court e-filing system Track billable hours (if applicable) and time entries Use Microsoft Word/Excel for document drafting, case tracking spreadsheets, and reporting Maintain organized files — physical and digital — for each matter

Requirements:

Strong research and writing skills Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel Excellent organizational skills Comfortable managing a full case load Work load supports a full-time position, but we will also consider applicants looking to work part-time.

Qualifications:

Admitted to practice law in Florida Litigation experience: 2 years or equivalent (Preferred)
