The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of family law and will play a crucial role in supporting our attorneys in various legal processes. This position requires excellent organizational skills and proficiency in legal drafting. The Family Law Paralegal will be instrumental in managing case files, preparing documents, and ensuring that all legal procedures are followed accurately. Responsibilities Assist attorneys in the preparation of family law cases, including divorce and paternity matters. Draft legal documents such as petitions, motions, and discovery requests. Review and manage documents using document management systems to ensure accuracy and compliance. Maintain organized case files and documentation for easy retrieval and reference. Utilize tools such as Westlaw for legal drafting and information gathering. Collaborate with clients to gather necessary information and documentation for their cases, including discovery. Track and ensure adherence to deadlines for filings and court appearances. Requirements Experience as a paralegal in family law is required. Strong knowledge of family law principles and procedures preferred. Proficiency in legal drafting and document review. Experience with legal research tools like Westlaw is highly desirable. Excellent organizational skills with a keen attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively while maintaining high-quality work standards. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with clients, attorneys, and court personnel. A proactive approach to problem-solving with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
