Job Description

Job Summary The ideal candidate will have a strong background in handling workers' compensation cases from inception through resolution. This role involves representing injured workers or employers/insurers in administrative hearings, settlement negotiations, and court proceedings. The attorney will manage a caseload, communicate with clients, and advocate for favorable outcomes within Georgia's Workers' Compensation system. Key Responsibilities Represent clients in workers' compensation claims, hearings, mediations, and appeals. Conduct thorough legal research and case preparation. Draft pleadings, motions, settlement agreements, and other legal documents. Provide legal advice and updates to clients throughout the case lifecycle. Attend depositions, mediations, and court appearances as necessary. Develop strategies for favorable case resolutions. Maintain accurate and timely case records and documentation. Collaborate with paralegals, legal assistants, and other team members. Stay current on Georgia workers' compensation laws and regulatory changes. Qualifications Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school. Active and goodstanding member of the State Bar of Georgia. 2+ years of experience in workers' compensation law preferred (but not always required). We welcome applicants with experience representing either claimants or the defense in workers' compensation matters. Strong knowledge of Georgia Workers' Compensation Act and procedures. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple cases efficiently and effectively. Demonstrated negotiation, analytical, and courtroom advocacy skills. Proficient in legal research tools and case management software. Preferred Attributes Experience representing either claimants or defense in workers' compensation matters. Bilingual skills (Spanish or other languages) are a plus. Strong client service orientation and ability to work under pressure. Detailoriented with excellent organizational skills.
