Job Description
Position Overview This position will report to the General Counsel and have a leadership role in the Legal Department and the broader organization. The position will assist with the day-to-day functioning of the Legal Department and servicing all the Department's internal and external clients. Essential Elements Corporate governance activities for an Insurance Holding Company system including 7 operating subsidiaries. Contract negotiation and drafting including reinsurance agreements, administrative services agreements and other vendor contracts. Provide legal support to Business Leaders across the organization Litigation management Requirements Education and Certifications Juris Doctor from accredited law school required Licensed to practice law required Experience Minimum 10-15 years of legal experience with a law firm, insurance or reinsurance organization Drafting and interpretation of complex corporate contracts and agreements; experience with reinsurance agreements, administrative services agreements, insurance agency contracts and other insurance documents strongly preferred Structuring and negotiating business transactions Recent experience in a strong customer-centric environment Background in a variety of life, health, casualty and liability insurance products is desirable Litigation and claim management for insurance company is highly desirable Knowledge of the legal and regulatory framework for the responsible use of Artificial Intelligence by insurance companies. People Management experience preferred Travel Required Occasional overnight travel may be periodically required Physical Requirements Ability to work in fast-paced professional business environment is essential.
