Responsibilities Advise clients on various immigration matters, including visas, green cards, asylum, deportation defense, and naturalization processes Prepare and review legal documents such as petitions, applications, affidavits, and supporting evidence with meticulous attention to detail Conduct thorough legal research using tools like LexisNexis and Westlaw to stay current on immigration laws, policies, and regulations Represent clients in administrative hearings, interviews, and court proceedings related to immigration cases Negotiate with government agencies and other stakeholders to facilitate favorable outcomes for clients Maintain accurate case files and ensure timely submission of all legal documentation in compliance with deadlines Collaborate with colleagues on complex cases involving estate planning, family law, or other related areas as needed Individuals Hearings, Bond Hearings, Appeals Briefs, Motion to Reopen Qualifications Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school with active bar admission in relevant jurisdiction(s) Proven experience practicing immigration law with a strong understanding of federal policies and procedures Familiarity with legal research platforms such as Westlaw and LexisNexis for comprehensive case analysis Excellent legal drafting skills coupled with strong written and verbal communication abilities Demonstrated negotiation skills to advocate effectively on behalf of clients Knowledge of additional practice areas including estate planning, environmental law, landlord-tenant law, family law, securities law, workers' compensation law, personal injury law, tribal law & regulations, litigation, patent law is a plus Prior legal administrative experience is preferred to ensure efficient case management Travel Requirements Willingness and ability to travel as needed for client hearings, court appearances, interviews, and other case-related matters. ( Not Required ) Preferred Experience 1+ years of experience practicing immigration law, with a focus on removal defense and humanitarian immigration matters. Demonstrated experience representing clients in Individual (Merits) Hearings before Immigration Courts. Experience preparing and conducting Bond Hearings , including presentation of evidence and legal arguments for client release. Proven ability to draft and file Appeal Briefs before the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA) . Experience preparing and litigating Motions to Reopen , Motions to Reconsider, and other post-decision filings. Strong knowledge of Immigration Court procedures, EOIR practices, and federal immigration regulations. Experience handling asylum, withholding of removal, Convention Against Torture (CAT), cancellation of removal, adjustment of status, and related forms of relief. Ability to manage a high-volume caseload while maintaining exceptional attention to detail and client communication. Bilingual proficiency (Spanish preferred) is highly desirable. Experience appearing before USCIS, ICE, and EOIR is strongly preferred. Excellent legal writing, oral advocacy, and client counseling skills.
