Job Description

JOB Acts as the administrative support to the County Attorney; performs a wide variety of complex tasks to facilitate efficient and effective running of the department; performs other duties as assigned. The hiring salary for this position is $62,525 annually; full salary range for this position is $62,525 - $107,578 annually.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Provides primary and direct administrative support to the Volunteer Boards, Committees and Commissions program comprised of approximately 37+ active boards; Interacts directly with citizens and community members and provides information pertaining to the Boards, Committees and Commissions. Meets with the Commissioners of St. Mary's County on a quarterly basis to discuss board appointments; Provides support to the County Attorney; Prepares correspondence, memorandum, and reports; Maintains databases and database files; Maintains confidential employee records; Performs payroll and personnel related functions for the department; Performs accounts payable responsibilities for the department and maintains fiscal records; Responsible for the annual departmental budget process; Supervises the Senior Office Specialist; Performs other duties as assigned.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
Associate's Degree; Five years related professional experience in executive and office administration support, with three years in a supervisory level position; Or equivalent technical training, education, and/or experience.
Additional Requirements:
Must successfully pass background investigation with favorable results; Must pass a pre-employment drug test.
Physical and Environmental Conditions:
Work requires no unusual demand for physical effort. Work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts which require normal safety precautions typical of such places as offices or meeting rooms, e.9., use of safe work place practices with office equipment, and/or avoidance of trips and falls.
