Northrop Grumman has an open Corporate Counsel position to support the Weapon Systems (WS) Division within our Defense Systems business. WS designs and produces critical products and precision capabilities for our customers. WS focuses on rapid development, production and deployment of our products to deter and defeat any adversary, now and in the future. Organized into four business units (Advanced Weapons, Armament Systems, Missile Products and Propulsion Systems & Controls), WS maintains sites across the country, including Northridge, CA; Mesa, AZ; Plymouth, MN; Rocket Center, WV; and Elkton, MD. The Corporate Counsel will serve on the business unit leadership team(s), assisting the business in the pursuit, capture and execution of U.S. Government, international and commercial prime contracts and subcontracts. Responsibilities include providing counsel to business partners and coordinating with various business and legal specialists inside the company on various matters (e.g., intellectual property; environmental, health and safety; real estate and property; human resources; internal investigations; supply chain; export/import compliance; litigation; and employment and labor relations; cost accounting and allowability). This Corporate Counsel position will be located in McLean, VA or Linthicum MD. The position reports to the Corporate Director and Division Counsel for WS located in McLean, VA. Succeeding in this position requires excellent problem-solving skills, sound judgement, strong business acumen, discretion, the highest standards of integrity and ethics, the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with lawyers and business teams inside and outside of the company, and work in cross-functional teams.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Juris Doctor degree with a minimum of 10 years of relevant U.S. Government contracting experience Member of an appropriate state bar and/or ability maintain in-house licensure status in the work location Ability to obtain, and maintain, a DoD security clearance U.S. Government and commercial contracting experience at a law firm, U.S. Government agency, and/or in-house legal department Ability to analyze complex legal concepts and communicate effectively
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience supporting U.S. Government programs and/or complex commercial transactions as in-house counsel, plus law firm or Government agency experience Experience supporting clients and interfacing with customers in the defense/intelligence communities Expertise with
FAR, DFARS, NASA
FAR/Supplement, and other U.S. Government agencies' rules and practices Litigation and/or investigative experience An active U.S. DoD security clearance at the Secret level or higher
Primary Level Salary Range:
$233,300.00 - $335,300.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
