Job Description
We are looking for a Maryland-licensed attorney to join a practice serving clients in Maryland. This position focuses on a blend of general civil litigation, family law, and personal injury matters, requiring someone who can move cases forward with confidence from initial evaluation through final resolution.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a varied docket of civil, family, and personal injury matters from opening through settlement, hearing, or trial
- Advocate for clients during court appearances, mediation sessions, depositions, arbitration proceedings, and trial-related matters
- Prepare persuasive legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery materials, and settlement documentation
- Analyze legal issues, perform research, and shape case strategies based on facts, applicable law, and procedural requirements
- Guide clients on case status, legal options, potential exposure, and recommended next steps throughout representation
- Lead settlement discussions with opposing counsel, insurance representatives, and self-represented parties to pursue favorable outcomes
- Organize witnesses, documentary evidence, and case themes in preparation for contested hearings and trial proceedings
- Maintain accurate matter files, monitor critical deadlines, and complete timekeeping and documentation in line with firm expectations
- Work closely with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to ensure efficient case progression across multiple practice areas
