Job Description

Minnesota and Wisconsin civil litigation firm, located in Woodbury/Lake Elmo, is seeking an associate attorney with two to five years of litigation experience and the willingness to learn. Previous insurance knowledge and/or insurance defense background is helpful. Must have strong legal research and writing skills, and a Minnesota license is required. Wisconsin license is a plus, but not necessary. Position offers competitive salary, which is commensurate with experience, and benefits in a relaxed and collegial working environment.
Responsibilities:
  • Strong litigation skills, including prior deposition, arbitration, or trial work
  • Experience drafting pleadings and motions
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to support litigation cases
  • Assist in the preparation and presentation of cases in court
  • Develop and implement legal strategies to achieve favorable outcomes
  • Work closely with senior attorneys to review and prepare legal documents and pleadings
  • Stay up-to-date with relevant laws, regulations, and court decisions
  • Utilize legal research tools, including Westlaw
  • Assist with legal administrative tasks, such as managing files, conducting interviews, and gathering evidence
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and legal staff to achieve case goals
Qualifications:
  • Strong knowledge of personal injury law
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Experience with legal administrative tasks and duties
  • A strong commitment to providing excellent legal service to clients
