Crane Agency, a leading Insurance Brokerage Agency, seeks a knowledgeable and detail-driven Coverage Specialist I to join our Coverage & Risk Advisory Group in Chesterfield. Position snapshot:
As a key member of our Coverage & Risk Advisory Group, you'll serve as a trusted resource for our brokers and account management staff, providing expert guidance on property and casualty coverage matters. From conducting in-depth coverage reviews to advising on contract insurance requirements and regulatory obligations, your work will directly help clients align their insurance programs with their unique risk profiles. You'll tackle complex, multi-line scenarios every day, and your expertise will help elevate the entire organization. What we're looking for: (Experience/Qualifications) 10+ years of commercial lines insurance experience, with a deep understanding of property and casualty principles Demonstrated experience providing integrated, multi-line insurance solutions for clients Valid resident Property & Casualty insurance license Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) or Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), or equivalent designation preferred Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with agency management systems; Applied Epic experience is a plus Personal characteristics: Highly detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication abilities Able to translate complex technical information into clear, understandable terms for diverse audiences Service-oriented, professional, positive and collaborative attitude Strong organizational, time-management and prioritization skills Adaptable and resilient to change; able to manage work under pressure and tight deadlines Self-motivated and capable of working independently Committed to continuous learning and professional growth What you'll be doing: (Job Duties/Essential Functions) Conduct in-depth coverage reviews of insurance programs, analyzing client risk profiles to evaluate exposures, and then prepare deliverables and present findings to brokers and account teams Analyze policy language to explain insuring agreements, terms, conditions, limitations and exclusions, and identify coverage gaps and problematic provisions within client programs Advise on insurance requirements within contracts (e.g., leases, vendor agreements, service contracts) and guide clients on what they should contractually require of third parties for effective risk transfer Advise on regulatory and statutory insurance requirements, supporting compliance navigation across jurisdictions and providing guidance on operational changes that may impact risk exposure Perform comparative analyses of insurance programs, policy forms and endorsement options, including specialized analyses Contribute to the development of tools, training materials and resources to improve team consistency and elevate coverage knowledge Maintain timely documentation and reporting to support departmental metrics
