This position is ideal for an attorney who is ready to take meaningful ownership of cases while continuing to develop under the guidance of experienced senior counsel. Our firm handles a diverse caseload involving civil litigation, personal injury, and criminal defense . The selected attorney will manage matters from intake through resolution, appear in court, conduct discovery and depositions, negotiate settlements, and serve as lead counsel at trial when appropriate. Responsibilities Manage assigned cases from initial intake through settlement, trial, or other final resolution Develop case strategies in coordination with senior attorneys Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, responses, and legal memoranda Conduct and defend depositions Prepare for and attend hearings, conferences, mediations, and trials Serve as lead counsel at trial when assigned Communicate regularly with clients regarding case developments and expectations Negotiate settlements and plea agreements when appropriate Maintain organized and accurate case files, deadlines, and billing records Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and legal assistants Ensure all work is completed professionally, accurately, and on time Qualifications Active license to practice law in Missouri and in good standing Approximately two to four years of litigation experience Experience with civil litigation, personal injury, criminal defense, or a related practice area Strong legal research, writing, negotiation, and courtroom skills Experience managing discovery and taking or defending depositions Ability to independently manage cases while accepting direction and feedback from senior counsel Strong judgment, organization, and attention to detail Professional and dependable communication with clients, courts, opposing counsel, and coworkers Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced practice Trial experience is strongly preferred. However, we will consider an attorney with substantial litigation experience who is ready to take the next step into a lead courtroom role.
