Corporate Attorney Southern Farm Bureau Casualty - 4.1 Ridgeland, MS Job Details 23 hours ago Qualifications Doctor of Law (JD) Bar Full Job Description Essential Functions Identify, analyze, and provide legal opinions and advice on privacy issues, data security, cybersecurity, and compliance requirements under the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA) and related regulations. Negotiate, review, and draft contracts in area of specialization. Identify, analyze, and provide legal opinions and advice on issues related to insurance coverage, bad faith exposure, tort liability, and other issues related to insurer-insured relationship for Southern Farm Bureau and related insurance companies in the six states in connection with a specific claim or claims. Keep track of legislation, regulations, and case law impacting property and casualty insurers in the six states. Advise Company personnel of important/relevant developments when and where they arise. Identify, analyze, and provide legal opinions and advice on the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) and matters related to the Company's benefit plans. Assist in the formation and/or licensing of new or existing subsidiaries of the Company and/or its related insurance companies in the six states in which the Company operates. Assist in the preparation of annual holding company filings on behalf of the Company and/or its related insurance companies in the six states in which the Company operates. Review and draft legal documents associated with real estate contracts. Make training presentations on insurance matters to upper management, Claims Managers, and Adjusters when requested. Analyze, organize, and solve complex legal issues, factual situations, and problems under short time frames. Read, analyze, and digest large volumes of information and data and prepare, as appropriate, legal memorandums, contracts, and/or opinions relating thereto. Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) risk ownership responsibilities to be conducted as assigned. Juris Doctorate degree required. 3 years minimum experience post graduate degree-Juris Doctorate required. Must have license to practice law. HO Experience Required 3 year(s): 3 years minimum experience post graduate degree-Juris Doctorate required.
