$120,000+ (Depending on Experience) About the Opportunity A well-established and growing regional insurance defense firm is seeking a talented Associate Attorney to join their Charlotte, NC office. This position offers a dynamic split practice, allowing you to sharpen your skills across two major litigation sectors while working alongside a highly collaborative team of legal professionals. Key Responsibilities Manage a diverse caseload consisting of an approximate 50/50 split between General Liability (GL) and Workers' Compensation defense matters. Conduct extensive legal research, draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and responses. Attend hearings, depositions, mediations, and trial proceedings representing insureds and insurance carriers. Maintain regular, professional communication with claims adjusters, clients, and opposing counsel. Accurately track and report billable hours in accordance with firm and client guidelines.
Qualifications Experience:
2+ years of civil litigation experience, ideally within insurance defense, general liability, or workers' compensation.
Billable Requirement:
Ability to successfully manage a 2,000 billable hour target.
Licensure:
Active license to practice law in the State of North Carolina and in good standing.
Skills:
Strong analytical, writing, and courtroom advocacy skills, with the ability to manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
