Paralegal Location:
Hackensack, New Jersey Responsibilities:
Utilize NetDocuments Software. Add billable hours to our TABS3 program. Drafting correspondence, assist in preparation of litigation-related documents, including, but not limited to pleadings, motions, subpoenas, affidavits, and discovery requests/responses. Monitor litigation deadlines and maintain litigation calendar (meetings, depositions, hearings, mediations, arbitrations, other important dates.) Manage and maintain case files, ensuring materials are organized, accessible, and up to date with regular client contact. Provide administrative support to the lawyer to enhance law office effectiveness. Communicate professionally and effectively with clients, law firms, medical offices, insurance adjusters, process servers, and court personnel. Draft various documents including CIS, motions and client communication. Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and other staff members. Perform research using various resources to support case preparation and strategy. Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards of the legal profession in all interactions and tasks.
Qualifications:
2+ years' experience as a paralegal in Family Law Works well under pressure in a fast-paced office setting with a positive attitude Familiarity with NJ Court Rules, legal procedures and E-Courts Excellent secretarial and organization skills Fluent in MS office suite Bachelor's degree and/or paralegal certificate from an accredited program, a plus Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail and interact well with clients Ability to work independently and as part of a team Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
