Job Description

Overview We are seeking an experienced Family Law (Matrimonial) Assistant to support an Equity Partner in a busy and sophisticated family law practice. The successful candidate will have substantial experience working in matrimonial/family law, particularly with high-net-worth clients, and will be comfortable handling complex, sensitive matters with discretion and professionalism. Key Responsibilities Provide comprehensive administrative and legal support to an equity partner in a high-volume matrimonial practice Prepare, revise, and format legal documents, including pleadings, motions, discovery, affidavits, separation agreements, and correspondence Manage court filings (electronic and physical), calendars, deadlines, and diarization of critical dates Liaise professionally with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, and financial experts Assist with financial disclosure, net worth statements, and document organization for complex matters Maintain and organize physical and electronic files with strict attention to confidentiality Coordinate scheduling of meetings, mediations, conferences, and court appearances Handle billing support, time entry, and expense tracking as required Anticipate the needs of the partner and proactively manage workflow and priorities Qualifications & Experience Minimum 7 years of experience as a matrimonial/family law assistant or legal assistant Demonstrated experience supporting senior partners and handling high-net-worth matrimonial matters Strong knowledge of family law procedures, court rules, and filing requirements Excellent drafting, proofreading, and document management skills High level of discretion, professionalism, and emotional intelligence when dealing with sensitive client matters Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Proficiency with legal practice management systems and Microsoft Office Personal Attributes Reliable, proactive, and resourceful Calm and composed under pressure Client-focused with excellent communication skills Team-oriented while able to work independently Why Join Us This role offers the opportunity to work closely with a senior equity partner on complex, high-profile matrimonial matters in a professional and collaborative environment.
