Attorney/Lawyer

Description We are looking for a motivated litigation attorney to join a collaborative legal team in Buffalo, New York. This position offers the opportunity to work on complex disputes for a diverse client base that includes businesses, corporations, and individuals. The role is well suited for an attorney who wants to strengthen courtroom readiness, expand hands-on litigation experience, and contribute in a fast-moving practice environment. Candidates should bring strong legal writing ability, sound judgment, and a proactive approach to managing case responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

• Support all phases of litigation by helping develop case strategy, organizing evidence, and preparing matters for trial.
• Conduct legal and factual research involving case law, individuals, companies, and job sites to strengthen defense positions.
• Prepare motions, briefs, internal memoranda, and client-facing case updates with clarity and accuracy.
• Participate in depositions, court appearances, hearings, and mediations as part of active case management.
• Review records and discovery materials to identify key facts, risks, and opportunities within each matter.
• Interview clients and assist in preparing witnesses so they are ready for testimony and other proceedings.
• Manage multiple assignments at once while maintaining attention to deadlines, detail, and overall case progress. Requirements
• Active attorney license in good standing, with admission in New York required and additional bar admission viewed favorably.
• At least 1 year of litigation experience, with 3-4 years especially valuable for this opportunity.
• Background in asbestos, toxic tort, or product liability defense is strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to draft motions, briefs, and other litigation documents effectively.
• Strong academic performance along with excellent written, analytical, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, stay organized under pressure, and balance competing priorities in a deadline-driven setting.
• A writing sample must be submitted as part of the application process.
• Client-centered mindset with initiative, adaptability, and a willingness to take on new challenges.
