Our firm protects public interests by navigating complex tax assessments, property valuation disputes, and constitutional tax challenges. Duties Draft pleadings, motions, and briefs for Article 7 property tax assessment review proceedings and municipal tax collection actions. Represent local government entities at administrative hearings and court appearances. Conduct legal research and statutory analysis regarding New York Real Property Tax Law and municipal law. Engage in client communication to provide updates, gather information, and advise on case developments Negotiate settlements while advocating for clients' best interests Stay current with developments in general & commercial litigation, procedural law, and relevant statutes affecting municipal tax cases Requirements Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and admission to the state bar. Recent graduates awaiting bar results or newly admitted attorneys are highly encouraged to apply. 0 to 3 years of litigation experience. Exposure to municipal law, administrative law, or tax law is a strong advantage but not required. Strong knowledge of procedural law and statutory research methods Excellent writing skills for drafting motions, legal briefs, and correspondence Demonstrated ability to conduct court depositions and trial preparation efficiently Effective client communication skills with a professional demeanor under pressure
