Job Description
CCL's Senior Counsel are instrumental in navigating complex legal challenges, mitigating risks, and ensuring organizational compliance with the ever-changing web of laws and regulations. They collaborate closely with senior management, cross-functional teams, and external stakeholders to safeguard the organization's interests, while also fostering innovation and growth. Senior Counsel must possess an excellent academic background, substantial experience in legal practice, and a proven track record of handling intricate legal matters. This individual will provide authoritative counsel on a broad spectrum of issues, ranging from commercial transactions, marketing, real estate, corporate governance, including IT and cyber-security, and regulatory and sustainability compliance. This role offers a dynamic and challenging environment where your legal acumen and leadership capabilities will significantly impact the organization's trajectory. Senior Corporate Counsel Responsibilities & Duties Provide legal advice and support to various business units
Draft, review, and negotiate complex contracts and agreements
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations
Advise on corporate governance matters
Real estate and lease agreements
Advise on IT and Cyber-security
Advise on Sustainability
Conduct legal research and keep abreast of legislative changes
Develop and implement legal policies and procedures
Support M&A transactions and other strategic initiatives Senior Counsel Qualifications & Skills 10+ years of legal experience, preferably in a corporate setting
Experience with complex commercial transactions
Strong background in regulatory compliance
Excellent negotiation and communication skills
Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Demonstrated leadership and team collaboration skills
Advanced degree in law (LL.M or equivalent)
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
Admitted to the state bar and in good standing
Minimum of 7 years of relevant legal experience
Expertise in corporate law, including commercial contracts and litigation
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
High ethical standards and professional integrity
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
