Staff Attorney American Litigation Law Group Norman, OK Job Details Full-time 23 hours ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance Flexible spending account Paid time off Vision insurance Qualifications Doctoral degree Doctor of Law (JD) Bar Full Job Description Overview Job Summary AmeritLit has an immediate opening for a licensed attorney who is in good standing with a state bar association (Oklahoma license is not required); out-of-state license is required. This position is full-time and in our office. AmeriLit is a full-service law firm with a focus on Consumer Credit Defense. AmeriLit was formed in 2016 to fill an essential need in providing legal services to assist our clients when served with a lawsuit. Since that time, AMERILIT has grown to more than 50 attorneys and legal professionals licensed and operating in 35 states throughout the United States. Responsibilities Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Negotiating settlements with Plaintiff's counsel while navigating incoming and responsive pleadings when matter is in litigation;
- Work with AmeriLit attorneys in other states to resolve litigation with Plaintiff's firms;
- Supervise legal assistants and paralegals with legal matters and resolving lawsuits with Plaintiff's firms;
- Work with Managing Attorney, Managing Members, Operations, and IT staff to improve systems and processes;
- Work with attorneys on compliance with state statutes and federal and local court rules to stay in compliance with other jurisdictions; and
- Work closely with the Managing Attorney and Management Team on uncommon legal issues that may arise and how to provide cost-effective solutions to secure clients' best interest. Qualifications and Skills (preferred):
- License and admission to practice with the highest court of a United States state jurisdiction;
- Letter of good standing with that state bar association;
- Current on latest federal and local state revisions of any regulations pertaining to Consumer Credit Protection Act and the Fair Credit Reporting Act; and,
- Some bankruptcy practice or experience in collection/defending consumers against credit card lawsuits is a plus.
