Job Description
Job description Busy Garden City law firm seeks an associate attorney to work in our civil litigation practice. The primary practice area is insurance defense, with a focus on defending our clients against fraudulent claims. The attorney will appear both virtually and in-person at court, arbitrations, and depositions. This is a high-volume practice, and the attorney will be responsible for overseeing cases from inception through trial. The firm offers generous PTO, a Safe Harbor 401(k) with a 3% salary match, and profit-sharing. Health insurance is available after 90 days of employment. Annual performance reviews are held with the managing partners, and there is a clear partnership track for the right candidate.
Responsibilities:
- Appear in-person and/or virtually in court for trials, motions, and conferences
- Appear virtually at private arbitrations
- Conduct depositions of claimants and medical providers
- Handle a high-volume case load from inception through trial
- Communicate promptly and effectively with the clients
- Draft threshold motions, arbitration contentions, and appeals
- Provide the client with legal opinions on handling of claims
Qualifications:
- Ability to handle a high volume of cases
- Able to argue effectively and obtain positive outcomes in a litigation setting
- Exceptionally strong writing and verbal communication skills are required
- Demonstrated high level organization skills for prioritizing workload
- Must be able to manage competing priorities and maintain high standards of performance
- Exhibits conscientiousness, dedication, self-discipline, and a sense of responsibility
