Job Description
Job Summary We aren't your typical high-volume personal injury firm. We don't measure success solely by the number of files we close, but by the lives we help rebuild. At Elsner Law Firm, we believe that a fair settlement is only possible when a client receives excellent medical care and has an advocate who actually knows their name. We work hard because our clients depend on us, but we also believe that enjoying your work and your colleagues is non-negotiable. If you're looking to escape the "mill" and actually practice meaningful law, you'll fit right in. The associate's pay is a combination of salary and bonus based on settlement amounts and cases you originate so you are in control of how much you make. Duties Meet with clients to learn about their case and provide them guidance on how to best maximize their case value while getting healthy as fast as possible. Draft and review legal documents including pleadings, motions, settlement agreements, and client correspondence with precision and clarity Attend depositions, mediations, and court hearings Negotiate settlements with insurance adjusters and opposing counsel to achieve favorable outcomes for clients Maintain meticulous records of case developments, correspondence, and court filings within the law office management system Stay informed about relevant laws and regulations affecting personal injury claims to ensure compliance and effective advocacy Requirements Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school with active bar admission in Washington state. 2-5 years experience in personal injury law Strong desire to help clients and build a congenial work environment Excellent legal drafting and writing skills with attention to detail Proven negotiation abilities to advocate effectively on behalf of clients Familiarity with the litigation process including taking depositions, attending mediation and arbitration as well as trial. Join us if you're passionate about making a difference through energetic advocacy! We value proactive team players who thrive in a setting where they take ownership of their cases, serve their clients with care and passion, and work collaboratively with the paralegals and legal assistants. This paid associate position offers the chance to develop your litigation skills while contributing meaningfully to our clients' success.
