  • Full-time Job Overview Seeking an Associate Attorney for criminal defense work in Montgomery, Walker, Brazos, Grimes, Burleson, Madison and surrounding counties.
We do not have a traditional office hours work process. If you are not in Court there is no requirement for you to be in an office building. However, work is expected to be completed as soon as possible as new cases are brought in and as issues arise. We expect attorneys to be available by phone or text. If you can complete your work from Paris or Rome and make it to court on time when required that is totally acceptable. If you're unreachable when clients need you then it's not. Responsibilities Represent clients in criminal defense cases, including pre-trial negotiations, hearings, and trials. Draft legal documents, motions, and pleadings with precision and clarity. Investigate case facts by reviewing police reports, evidence, and interviewing witnesses. Negotiate plea agreements with prosecutors to achieve favorable outcomes for clients. Maintain notes in case files. Requirements Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and admission to the State Bar of Texas. Prior experience or internship in criminal defense or related legal fields is preferred but not mandatory. Ability to negotiate effectively on behalf of clients. Exceptional communication.
