The salary range of $75,000-$80,000 is non-negotiable at the time of hire. However, like our firm, there is significant room for growth — compensation increases as you grow with us. Additionally, this is a hybrid position requiring in-person presence at our Silver Spring, MD office. Applicants must reside within commuting distance of Silver Spring, MD. We are unable to consider fully remote candidates. The Opportunity We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Associate Attorney to join our growing legal team. This is a meaningful opportunity to do substantive immigration work from day one. You will carry your own caseload, work closely with senior attorneys, and make a real difference for clients at some of the most critical moments of their lives. Responsibilities Manage an active caseload across personal and business immigration matters including family-based petitions, removal defense, asylum, VAWA, H-1B, L-1, O-1, EB-1, EB-2 NIW, and I-140 petitions Draft and file motions, briefs, applications, and supporting documentation with USCIS, EOIR, and federal courts Conduct client intakes, maintain regular communication with clients, and provide clear updates on case status Appear in immigration court hearings and administrative proceedings as needed Collaborate with attorneys and staff to develop case strategy and meet filing deadlines Stay current on changes in immigration law, policy, and agency guidance Maintain accurate and organized case files in our case management system (Docketwise) Qualifications Required J.D. from an accredited law school Active bar admission in at least one U.S. jurisdiction (or pending bar results welcome) Strong legal writing, research, and analytical skills Excellent client communication skills and a commitment to client-centered representation Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment Must reside within commuting distance of Silver Spring, MD (hybrid in-office requirement) Preferred Up to 3 years of immigration law experience — law clinic, externship, or law school immigration work counts Experience in removal defense, asylum, VAWA, or business immigration matters Spanish or other second language proficiency Familiarity with Docketwise or similar immigration case management software Experience working with underserved or immigrant communities
