Environmental and Other Litigion:
Provides legal services in connection with litigion involving planning, environment, real este, infrastructure, DBE, civil rights, and other external mters. Assists field counsel, Department of Justice, DOT Office of General Counsel, and Ste torneys when approprie.
Infrastructure:
Provides legal services in connection with contract mters. Provides legal services in connection with toll roads, bridges, tunnels, and ferries. Provides legal advice and services reled to current and innovive financing of highway projects, and public/prive partnerships (PPPs). Provides legal services associed with Federal-aid suspensions and debarments, and infrastructure reled Federal tort mters (including assistance to counsel loced in the field). Provides legal services in connection with the Emergency Relief Program.
Fiscal Services:
Provides legal assistance regarding determinions of eligibility for Federal funding, authorizions, Federal-aid apportionments, limitions, and reled external budgetary and fiscal mters.
Safety and Operions:
Provides legal advice and services reled to Federal aid highway safety programs, such as the Hazard Eliminion Program, the Highway/Rail Safety Crossing Program, and those safety programs jointly administered with the Nional Highway Traffic Safety Administrion, including the review of Ste compliance with Federal requirements. Provides legal advice and services reled to the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD), and truck size and weight limits. The ideal candide for this position is an individual with excellent legal research and writing skills, who can handle and prioritize multiple competing tasks and a diverse workload while maintaining collegial working relionships. This individual has a demonstred interest in, and work experience reled to environmental and infrastructure issues. In order to qualify for this position, candides must have successfully completed a full course of study in a school of law accredited by the American Bar Associion (ABA) and have a professional law degree, and must currently be a member in good standing of the bar of a Ste or Territory of the United Stes or the District of Columbia.
