The firm concentrates in federal employment discrimination and civil rights litigation. You will control your own schedule and method of work, with occasional in-person appearances for depositions or court hearings. Expect roughly 15 to 20 hours per week, though hours will vary by caseload and are not guaranteed.
Relationship:
Independent contractor. This is not an employment position. The firm will not withhold taxes, provide employee benefits, or direct the day to day manner in which you complete your work. You will invoice the firm for services rendered and are responsible for your own taxes, insurance, and business expenses. You may accept work from other clients during the engagement.
Location:
Remote, with occasional in-person attendance required in the Washington, DC area.
Engagement type:
Independent contractor, part-time, project and matter based.
Pay:
$65 to $80 per hour, billed and invoiced by the contractor. What you will do You will represent clients before the
EEOC, EEO
offices, and the MSPB in administrative hearings. You will handle federal employment litigation in district court, including Title VII and ADA claims. You will draft dispositive motions, briefs, and administrative filings. You will conduct legal research and manage case documents in SharePoint. Appellate experience before the Fourth or Seventh Circuit is a plus. Who we are looking for You hold an active law license in DC or MD. A license in both jurisdictions is a plus, and a VA license is exceptional. You have at least five years of employment law experience, with a strong record in EEOC, EEO, and MSPB administrative hearings. Experience with federal employment litigation, Title VII, and ADA claims strengthens your application. You work independently, set your own hours, and manage your own caseload without close supervision. Compensation and terms Pay ranges from $65 to $80 per hour, paid against invoices you submit. No employee benefits apply. The firm engages contractors under a written independent contractor agreement that governs the scope of work, fees, and confidentiality obligations.
