The firm serves individuals and businesses in four main areas (Bankruptcy, Real Estate, Business, & Estate Planning); the ideal candidate can assist specifically with Bankruptcy and Business.
Bankruptcy:
Consumer 7 and 13, Business 7s Can assist in debt relief alternatives if Bankruptcy is not an option. The idea candidate is very familiar with the BK process, from intake to calculations, to filing and calendaring. We use a combination of Jubilee, BK Questionnaire, and Smokeball. The ideal candidate would have some familiarity with some/all of those systems. Business Law; from Fractional General Counsel to flat fee services , including Entertainment, Trademark, & Copyrights and Escrow services for business transactions. The ideal candidate would assist in achieving our goal: for business clients to be proactive, rather than reactive, by assessing and identifying their business goals and possible pitfalls. General knowledge of Estate Planning and Real Estate would be helpful as well to in coverage/overflow work in those areas. Desired Qualifications Strong foundation and with relevant experience in bankruptcy & business law Knowledge and experience in estate planning and real estate matters in a plus Proficiency with Smokeball legal practice management software, Jubilee Bankruptcy Software, BKQuestionnaire and standard office applications (e.g., Microsoft Office, PDF tools, chrome) Reviewing, drafting, formatting, and organizing legal documents Experience in Document Review, with attention to detail in identifying inconsistencies, missing information, and compliance issues • Ability to assist in streamlining internal workflows and procedures Effective Communication skills, including clear written and verbal communication with attorneys, clients, and external parties Associate's degree or certificate in paralegal studies (or equivalent experience); bachelor's degree preferred Prior paralegal or legal assistant experience in a law firm or in-house setting, ideally in multiple of the listed practice areas Strong organizational and time-management abilities, with capacity to handle multiple matters and deadlines Ability to work independently, maintain confidentiality, and exercise sound judgment Information and Benefits Office hours are Monday to Friday 8:30-5pm as well as occasional events or networking functions Work from home flexibility, but in-office is preferred for collaboration & teamwork Health insurance available Salary commensurate with experience Please contact us at with any questions.
