This is a hybrid role:
you will work primarily from home, coming in person only for court appearances and meetings with new and existing clients. In this position, you will provide expert legal counsel and representation in family law matters, including divorce, child custody, child support, paternity, adoption, and domestic violence cases. Your energetic approach will help clients navigate complex and often emotional legal processes with confidence and clarity. You will manage a diverse caseload, conduct thorough legal research, and develop strategic solutions to achieve favorable outcomes for clients. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in people's lives while owning your matters end to end in a growing practice.
Hybrid schedule:
Work from home most of the time, with in-person time reserved for court and client meetings. Responsibilities Represent clients in family law proceedings, including negotiations, mediations, and court trials Draft and review legal documents such as petitions, motions, agreements, and pleadings with precision and clarity Conduct comprehensive legal research using resources like Westlaw and LexisNexis to support case strategy Advise clients on family law matters including divorce, child custody and support, paternity, modifications, guardianship, adoption, and orders of protection Negotiate settlements that align with clients' best interests while maintaining professionalism and assertiveness Maintain detailed, organized case files and ensure compliance with all procedural and filing requirements Collaborate with colleagues and support staff to deliver exceptional client service Skills Strong knowledge of family law procedures and practice Effective negotiation skills to facilitate settlements and resolve disputes Proficiency with legal research platforms such as Westlaw and LexisNexis Excellent writing skills for drafting clear, persuasive legal documents Legal drafting expertise combined with strong organizational skills for managing multiple cases simultaneously Prior experience in a law office environment with familiarity with legal administrative and filing processes
