A Paralegal will be responsible for supporting our attorneys, clients, and legal teams throughout all phases of family law cases—from intake to resolution. You'll manage documents, prepare filings, coordinate schedules, and maintain professional, timely communication with clients. Your commitment to quality work, ethical standards, and collaboration will help ensure each client's experience reflects the very best of who we are.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the following satisfactorily; other duties may be assigned. Draft, review, and file legal documents including pleadings, motions, briefs, and correspondence. Prepare attorneys for hearings, mediations, status conferences, and other court appearances. Organize and maintain case files in compliance with firm and court standards. Coordinate with third parties such as expert witnesses, opposing counsel, and court personnel. Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, maintaining professional and compassionate communication. Respond to client inquiries within 24 business hours and ensure they receive regular updates throughout the case. Guide clients through the legal process and ensure all documentation is accurate, complete, and timely. Maintain a litigation and pre-litigation caseload of 50-80 cases from intake through closure. Monitor case deadlines, court dates, and deliverables to ensure timely progress. Input and track case updates, notes, and billable time in the firm's case management system. Participate in weekly case review meetings and collaborate with attorneys to contribute to case strategy. Maintain a professional and collegial working relationship with your assigned attorney(s) and fellow team members. Conduct monthly case reviews and contribute to overall case strategy with attorneys and team members. Participate in legal team meetings, case strategy sessions, and firmwide collaboration activities. Receive ongoing mentorship and training from Senior Paralegals to support growth and consistency. Submit performance metrics (KPI reports) and other documentation as requested. Support team initiatives including onboarding, cross-training, and firm culture events. Adhere to the firm's Standard Operating Procedures and policies. Demonstrate professionalism, initiative, and accountability in daily responsibilities. Engage in networking, business development, or community outreach activities as needed. Perform additional duties or special projects as assigned by attorneys or leadership. Organize and maintain shared legal resources, such as precedent libraries, research folders, and templates. Review and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to paralegal workflows, documentation, and internal processes. Assist with internal audits or case file checklists to ensure compliance with firm policies and legal standards. Take on non-routine assignments such as research projects, data clean-up, or internal reporting. Contribute to firm initiatives such as technology rollouts, client feedback programs, or process improvement projects. Maintain consistent and professional work habits, including clocking in/out, observing lunch and break periods, and seeking approval in advance for any overtime. Work a standard 40-hour workweek, not exceeding 8 hours per day, while meeting the minimum weekly billable hour requirement and keeping non-billable time within reasonable limits. Refrain from providing legal advice, making guarantees or promises, or speculating about outcomes, costs, or duration of representation.

Qualifications:

Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Ability:
  • Read, analyze, and interpret scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
Respond to inquiries or complaints from customers, agencies, or members of the business community. Write speeches and articles for publication.
Mathematical Ability:
  • Add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Compute rate, ratio, and percent, and draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability:
  • Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills:
