Job Description

Summary of Job Description:
The Associate Legal Asset Management Attorney is responsible for preparing and negotiating simple real estate contracts, amendments and other legal agreements related to the property including estoppels, SNDAs, general contractor agreements, storage agreements, exclusive waivers, signage agreements, non-renewal lease amendments, easement agreements and CC&R under the oversight of a more senior attorney. This position assists with simple landlord tenant disputes and provides lease interpretation and analysis for the Property Management team. This position assists with condemnations and ADA matters and provides legal support to the Asset Management team, Property Management and the Real Estate Legal team.
Job Responsibilities:
Performs legal functions for Real Estate Legal applying establish legal standards, principles, and practices. Prepares and negotiates simple leases and amendments. Effectively reviews, drafts, negotiates, and finalizes real estate transactions under the supervision of a more senior attorney. Supports the legal management of the real estate portfolio to ensure timely extensions for lease renewals. Handles liens, condemnation, and ADA matters; addresses any ADA-related real estate legal issues, landlord-tenant disputes, and/or general real estate issues. Reviews and negotiates estoppels, SNDAs, general contractor agreements, storage agreements, CC&Rs, exclusive waivers, signage agreements, non-renewal lease amendments, easements agreements and other real estate and real estate litigation documents as requested. Prepares draft landlord/tenant dispute letters under the oversight of a more senior attorney. Analyzes documents, notices, or communications received from public entities (e.g., planning departments, zoning authorities, utility districts) to determine their relevance and potential impact on the property. Builds and maintains partnerships with critical stakeholders internally and externally and provides legal support for the Asset Management and Property Management teams. Performs special projects for the LANN team as required or assists with due diligence overflow. May serve as liaison between the organization and clients/vendors as follow up on projects.

  • Benefits available for eligible permanent full time associates Your background & experience: JD degree and licensed to practice law 0-3 years of relevant experience Successful completion of initial and periodically required training Obtaining a valid Food Handler's Card within 30 days of employment is a requirement of this position.
Pay Range:
L1: $112,500 - $158,000/ Annual
  • Within the range, individual pay is determined using various factors, including work location and experience.
