• 7/31/2026 Key Responsibilities Lieutenant, Atty Gen This is a supervisory level position within the Medicaid Fraud and Patient Abuse Division.

The incumbent must have at least 3 years of experience working on Medicaid fraud or health care fraud cases and experience working cases involving patient/person abuse, neglect, and/or exploitation, and is recognized as an expert or possesses exceptional investigative skills. The incumbent will carry a caseload that allows sufficient time for supervisory responsibilities, which include providing guidance and leadership to the division and assisting the Chief Investigator (Captain) in overseeing subordinate investigators. Responsibilities include making hiring recommendations, determining workload and delegating assignments, training, monitoring and evaluating performance, and initiating corrective or disciplinary actions. Examples of Tasks Develops, directs, and/or evaluates programs. Supervises subordinate personnel including assisting with hiring, determining workload and delegating assignments, training, monitoring and evaluating performance, and initiating corrective or disciplinary actions. Carries a caseload of a size which allows time for supervisory duties Along with the Chief Investigator, directs investigations determining methods and techniques to use in each case. Stands in for the Chief Investigator for time-sensitive tasks. Assists the Chief Investigator with time sensitive referrals, agent training, identifying trends, developing standard operating procedure materials, and auditing cases. Provides oversight of the MDT regions assigned to agents. Participates actively in the development and implementation of the Filevine software. Serves on division Outreach and Intake Committees. Coordinates law enforcement and investigative efforts with federal, state, and/or local agencies. Obtains and executes warrants and supports investigative team as they carry out warrants. Testifies in court or hearings regarding actions, findings, procedures, protocols, etc. Assist the Director and other members of the division to establish and maintain compliance with division Standard Operating Procedures. Assists in preparing for State and Federal audits and being a resource during audits. Ensures and enforces compliance with applicable federal and state laws, rules, and regulations, and specifically studies and trains others on Medicaid regulations pertinent to division cases. Provides assistance and/or on-the-job training. Performs all duties in the absence of the Chief Investigator. Performs all duties as assigned by the Chief Investigator. Qualifications Must possess current law enforcement certification. Minimum of 3 years' experience investigating Medicaid fraud, patient abuse, neglect, or exploitation cases. Recognized expertise or advanced skill in investigative procedures and techniques. Demonstrated ability to manage a supervisory-level caseload while providing guidance and leadership to a division. Experience overseeing and mentoring subordinate investigators. Proven skills in making hiring recommendations, assigning workloads, delegating tasks, conducting training, monitoring performance, and taking corrective or disciplinary actions as necessary. Strong understanding of program development and evaluation within a Medicaid fraud and patient abuse context. Ability to collaborate with division leadership and participate in software implementation and committee work. About the Role Location
