Job Description

Senior Counsel Potomac Legal Group is seeking a Senior Counsel to join our growing Employment Law and Litigation practice. Potomac Legal Group is a respected employment law firm based in North Bethesda, Maryland, that specializes in employment law for private sector executives, technology experts, medical providers, and university leaders. The practice is devoted to employment counseling and contract negotiation, as well as dispute resolution through ADR, and, as necessary, litigation. We are not a high volume contingency firm . This is a senior role for an experienced employment attorney and litigator who wants real autonomy over their cases, a clear origination plan that pays for the business you bring in, and the support of a firm that backs its attorneys with strong infrastructure and a genuine reputation. If you are an employment lawyer who wants your work to have impact, your compensation to reflect your value, and your business development efforts to translate directly into earnings, we want to talk. What You'll Do You will own a sophisticated employment caseload from intake through resolution.
Day-to-day work includes:
Counseling individual clients on employment matters Negotiating severance and separation agreements on behalf of executives and other employees Representing clients through the EEOC administrative process Managing your own caseload through every phase of litigation in state and federal court Developing client relationships and growing a book of business with the firm's full support What We're Looking For Active Maryland Bar license, or eligibility for admission. Bar membership in Virginia or Washington, DC, as well as other jurisdictions, is a plus. Demonstrated experience handling plaintiff-side employment matters from intake through resolution Proven ability to manage a caseload through all phases of litigation or arbitration Comfort operating independently at the senior level, with sharp attention to detail and clear, effective written and oral communication Ability and desire to mentor, teach, and guide new associates in the practice of law. EOE Pay:
$170,000.00 - $200,000.00 per year
