San Mateo, CA (Hybrid)
Job Type:
Full-Time About the Opportunity Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Civil Litigation Attorney to join its growing litigation practice. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned litigator who can independently manage complex cases, lead trial strategy, mentor junior attorneys, and provide exceptional client representation. The ideal candidate will have substantial litigation experience, first-chair trial experience, and the ability to oversee matters from inception through trial while working collaboratively within a hybrid work environment. Key Responsibilities
  • Independently manage a diverse civil litigation caseload from inception through resolution.
  • Handle Trust Litigation, Public Entity Defense, General Civil Litigation, and Insurance Defense matters.
  • Serve as first-chair trial counsel in jury and bench trials.
  • Conduct depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts.
  • Draft pleadings, dispositive motions, discovery, and trial documents.
  • Develop litigation strategy and evaluate settlement opportunities.
  • Mentor and supervise junior attorneys.
  • Maintain billable time requirements and accurately track billing.
  • Work closely with clients, experts, and litigation support staff. Qualifications
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Active California Bar membership.
  • Significant Civil Litigation experience.
  • First-chair trial experience required.
  • Experience managing cases independently.
  • Strong motion practice, deposition, negotiation, and courtroom advocacy skills.
  • Experience with Trust Litigation, Public Entity Defense, General Civil Litigation, or Insurance Defense preferred.
  • Experience using legal billing and case management software.
