(we are based in Santa Rosa, but are opening this role up to remote work).Position OverviewWe are a respected Sonoma County firm who is seeking a seasoned Senior Employment Attorney to lead complex employment litigation and counsel clients on compliance and risk management. The ideal candidate will have deep experience in wrongful termination, wage and hour claims, PAGA actions, harassment matters and other employment law disputes, and will manage cases from intake through trial while mentoring junior attorneys and growing client relationships.

Key ResponsibilitiesManage and defend high-stakes employment litigation including wrongful termination, wage & hour claims, PAGA actions, harassment and related matters.

Lead all phases of litigation: case assessment, discovery, motion practice, mediation, and trial preparation and representation.

Provide strategic counseling to clients on employment policies, compliance audits, investigations, and risk mitigation.

Draft and respond to pleadings, motions, subpoenas, settlement agreements, and other legal documents with clear, persuasive legal writing.

Supervise, mentor and review work product of associate attorneys, paralegals, and legal staff.

Develop and maintain strong client relationships, including regular updates, strategy sessions, and business development activities.

Coordinate with outside counsel and manage outside vendor relationships (experts, investigators, e-discovery providers).Stay current on federal and state employment law developments and translate changes into practical client advice and training materials.

Contribute to the firms business development through client pitches, seminars, publications, and networking.

QualificationsJuris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school and active membership in good standing with the State Bar (California Bar admission strongly preferred or admission eligible).Minimum of 7+ years of substantial employment litigation experience representing employers or employees in state and federal court and administrative forums.

Demonstrated expertise in Wrongful Termination, Litigation, PAGA, Wage & Hour, Employment Law, and Harassment matters.

Track record of handling complex cases from intake through trial, including successful motion practice and settlement negotiations.

Exceptional legal research, drafting and oral advocacy skills; comfort arguing motions and conducting depositions and trials.

Proven supervisory experience mentoring junior attorneys and managing teams to deliver high-quality results under deadlines.

Strong client service orientation with business development acumen and ability to present and train client audiences.

Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage a high-volume caseload while maintaining strategic priorities.

Willingness to travel occasionally for court appearances, client meetings, and depositions as needed.
