Sexual Abuse Litigation Associate - Southern California (Hybrid; Non-Public Search) Lord Gurman & Lewis LLC Westlake Village, CA Job Details Full-time $175,000 - $225,000 a year 6 hours ago Benefits Profit sharing Health insurance 401(k) Paid time off Qualifications Legal advocacy Motion processing Confidential information handling Direct client contact Legal discovery Legal motion preparation Bar Full Job Description We have been retained by a distinguished plaintiff-side firm experiencing rapid growth, and specializing in sexual misconduct litigation, that seeks to hire a midlevel-to-senior associate (about three or more years of experience) to join one of its Southern California area offices. With a track record of securing meaningful outcomes for survivors, the firm has built a reputation for rigorous, high-stakes civil litigation and a collegial, mission-driven culture. Key Responsibilities Work up cases from initial intake through resolution, including investigation, discovery, and case strategy Lead and conduct investigations in connection with sensitive civil matters Draft and argue dispositive and non-dispositive motions at a high level Take and defend depositions Serve as second chair in trial proceedings, with a path toward greater courtroom responsibility over time Collaborate with a tight-knit team on complex, multi-faceted litigation matters Engage directly with clients navigating difficult and sensitive circumstances What the Firm Seeks At least three or more years of civil litigation experience, with meaningful hands-on involvement across the litigation lifecycle Strong written advocacy skills and comfort with motion practice Deposition experience (taking and defending) valued; trial experience a plus but not required Former prosecutors or public defenders are strongly encouraged to apply California bar admission required Ability to handle sensitive subject matter with professionalism and discretion What the Firm Offers Base salary of about $175,000 to $225,000, depending on experience Annual discretionary bonus, historically ranging from $10,000 to over $100,000 depending on firm and individual performance Subsidized healthcare benefits Profit-sharing and defined benefits plan (vesting after two years) A flexible work environment — attorneys generally work from the office most days but are free to work remotely as needed, with no mandatory attendance requirement The opportunity to do meaningful, high-impact work on behalf of survivors at a firm with significant momentum We have placed multiple attorneys with this firm and have close ties there.
